In this role, you will lead field crews to perform precise and accurate land surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking. Responsibilities:

  • Lead a field survey crew to conduct boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
  • Utilize total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors to gather accurate data in the field.
  • Ensure that all surveys are conducted according to company and industry standards, maintaining the highest level of accuracy and precision.
  • Prepare and review detailed field notes and survey reports, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other field crews to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of survey equipment, troubleshooting issues when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or Survey Instrument Operator.
  • Proficiency in using total stations, GPS receivers, and data collection software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of land surveying principles and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing field crews.
  • Ability to troubleshoot field equipment issues and maintain equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

We are seeking a skilled Land Survey Drafter to join our team in either a full-time or remote capacity. This role involves preparing detailed survey drawings that uphold our high standards for accuracy and precision. You’ll work with advanced drafting software like AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey, creating documents that meet our clients' needs for clarity and detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce precise land survey drawings, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction layouts.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey software to generate high-quality and accurate drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to company and client standards, accurately incorporating field data.
  • Collaborate with field surveyors to confirm and integrate data effectively into final survey documents.
  • Deliver final outputs, including digital files and printed maps, ready for client use.

Common Tasks:

  • Appraisal District and Deed Research: Look up property records and ownership details.
  • Deed Analysis: Review documents that show property boundaries and history.
  • Drafting Record Data: Add important property details from past surveys to current plans.
  • Importing Field Survey Data Using Field to Finish: Load data from field surveys into drafting software to start drawings.
  • Connecting Linework from Field Data: Draw lines that show property boundaries based on survey points.
  • Labeling and Dimensioning Survey and Exhibit Features: Add names and sizes to features like buildings, fences, and roads.
  • Researching Title Commitments and Documentation for Title Surveys: Check legal documents that explain property rights for accurate surveys.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey software.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Land Survey Drafter, with an in-depth understanding of surveying techniques and drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with Field to Finish workflows is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate effectively with field surveyors and project managers.
